Breakfast Duo--Pancakes and Waffles

I was a grown-up before I realized you could make pancakes and waffles without a mix!

Homemade Pancakes
1 1/4 cups flour
1 egg
1 1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sugar
1 heaping tsp baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup oil
1/4 tsp. salt
Use mixer or blender to make batter smooth.

Homemade Waffles
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup melted butter
1 cup buttermilk
Wisk together then add...
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
Wisk until smooth.

Always keep buttermilk on hand, but you won't be able to get it at the Bottom Dollar, yet!

Now I know what the buttermilk is being used for...I should have known after having your pancakes. People, if you haven't had them, make them ASAP. You won't regret it. They are the best!

The pancakes and waffles are delish, so why do you insist on putting store bought syrup on them?? The pancakes you had when you were little were Bisquick, but the homemade syrup made up for that fact. Better have "Mapeline" in your food storage. Mom
